Case overview

Description

Summary

In this retrial, Thomas Randolph is accused of conspiring to commit murder of his sixth wife, Sharon Randolph. Michael Miller was the hired hitman, and was also killed in the May 2008 incident. Randolph was tried, convicted and sentenced to death in the first trial in 2017. The Supreme Court of Nevada overturned that verdict in 2021, citing prosecutors' improper use of discretion by including prior bad act evidence against Randolph. Randolph had been tried in the mysterious death of his second wife, Becky Gault, in Utah. He had been acquitted of that death in 1988.
